can the icons created with realworld be copied to an NT system to say the system32 folder and then used tagged to a program in the usual manner

Yes, but you should delete (or not generate) the images from the icon, which are not used on NT. Basically, only leave image of 16x16 and 32x32 pixels in 4-bit and 8-bit color depths.

ok,and can this all be managed with real world during the conversion of an existing image to an icon

Yes, choose to create a custom icon and uncheck the superfluous formats and color depths.

I need some help with these icons. I have boxes around each of them and want to remove and have tried everything to remove. Can anyone help me find out the problem?

There are tips on how to create icons from problematic images here: Manual image to icon

If that did not help, just ask and include as many details as possible, but please, create your own forum topic.
