Vista Icons with this editor? - RealWorld forums

I cant get this editor to open vista icons. Just get the message that the requested action failed to complete successfully .

Im using 2005.2.1

I cant find the word vista in your help files anywhere. So is this supposed to be able to open Vista Icons?

Yes, 2005.2.1 supports loading/saving/extracting Vista icons. Please check your version in the about box. (Help->About RealWorld Icon Editor).

OK I sent it. Thanks for the help Vlasta I have several like this. They wont open with Icon Developer. Thats how Ive been making sure theyd be suitable before I use them in XP. Like in the shell32.dll etc. So I saw your program and thought I might make the switch. I hate Stardock. lol.

But they wont open in yours either. So I tried the example one that you have. The gears. It opens in yours but still not in IconDeveloper. I tried saving it a few different ways to see if ID would open it but still no. Which makes me think XP might have a problem if I try and use it in a dll or exe or something.

BTW, what does Vista's Windows Explorer icon look like? I think Ive seen every Vista screenshot and icon out there but havent seen whats replaceing the old folder and magnifying glass icon.
