Is it possible to resize a picture *and* specify the resolution

Hi. I have a batch of files which I need to resize to about 400pixels ans 150dpi. But while the resize works fine it reduces the dpi to 72 which is too low for me. The originals are 300dpi.

Is there any way of doing this?

Many thanks

Plus I have another set of pics which are in the region of 5000x3000 px but when I reduce them to 400px wide, the resolution is set to 21 dpi. This is a bit wierd! I want 72dpi...

The tool tries to maintain the same physical size when resampling pictures. That is why you are seeing 21 DPI in your case. You cannot set both size in pixels and DPI in one step, but you can do the second step and it is very fast - the tool just changes the resolution and leaves everything else intact PhotoResizeD72T.exe or PhotoResizeD72TI.exe to overwrite the files.

Thanks, Vlasta. So step 1 is resize, step 2 is change resolution? And this won't reduce the quality?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the 2nd step will keep image data intact.
