Semi-transparency gif - RealWorld forums

I try to make an gif icon which is semi-transparency (can see through the background), but could not find how to make it. Is it possible to make a semi-transparency gif file because i need a file to be in gif format to put on my phone?

Unfortunately, GIF cannot be semitransparent. It only supports fully opaque or fully transparent pixels. If you can, use PNG instead.
