I'm using IconCool Studio to make some (using existing larger ico files) 32 * 32 png icons. I am using them on a PDA program for my Sony PSP that turns it into a PDA and the program uses png files both for the background and icons. I can make it work and it looks a lot better as the default is very plain. But when the icons appear they are surrounded by either a black or white box making up the 32 * 32 grid. What I had hoped for, and that is what the existing icons look like in the default theme, is for the icons to be tranparent around the image itself. Can anyone help me in that area please? When the icons are in the IconCool editor it does appear that the surrounding pixels are transparent but when you save it that isn't what happens.
First, check the saved .png files on your PC in any image viewer or editor that does not ignore transparency. If they look OK, then the problem would be in the PDA, otherwise in the IconCool exporter to .png.
