Turning off Anti-aliasing for pixel fonts?

Every time I type pixel font, I see transparent pixels on all letters, making the font have more colors in the palette than it needs. How do I turn off Anti-aliasing when typing any pixel font?

Well, assuming you are in a raster layer, you can try Tool presets->Add custom preset (from the toolbar above the canvas) and put GDITEXT into the Edit tool box, turn off smoothing and something sensible into the Name box. Then you can click on the new item in the Tool presets menu to activate it. Then you need to type the text into the box in the right panel and click on canvas to place it.
