So I think this software is one of a kind and really has no alternative. I am noticing that the website lost it's https certificate. I don't know if this is temporary but it may be a signal that the software is slowly loosing users/interest. I don't want this software to be simply gone.
=Preservation
Even if the code is put on github and no one updates it, it will still become well documented and persevered for someone in the future to come along and use it.
=Steady Improvement
If the code is open people who love this software can contribute in meaningful ways allowing the community to take care of the project as a whole.
=Reduced Burden
The original developer will not have as much burden of maintaining the code.
=Alternative to the Website
Github allows us to have a robust issue tracker, discussions forum and version history that does not need to be maintained by individuals and it is even free if the code is open source. If the website becomes unmanageable github can be our second home.
In conclusion I just really like this software and this website and I don't want it gone.
