Single column layout in RealWorld Paint

Published by on April 4th 2015.

I occasionally get asked how to move the layers panel in RealWorld Paint to the right side of the window. It is possible, but not a simple thing. Here is how you can do it.

First, click on Tools->Application options in the main menu. Then check the last box on the first tab (Show menu commands for layout control...) and click OK.

Now, download this file, and unzip it.

Then go again to the Tools menu and you'll see new items there. Click on Manage layouts, then on the Import layout icon and select the unzipped file. A new line called layered-image-editor-single-column appears in the list.

Finally, select item called layered-image-editor and delete it. You may skip this step and keep both layouts and you'll be able to switch them via a link in the right part of the menu bar.

Update: here is an alternative layout with the panels on the left side.

Update2: here puts the panel on the left side of a window for animated images.

It was very good especially for those using the left hand to draw in tablet, but for those who use the right hand would be better to take the tabs to the left side.
Could make a layout with tabs on left side? please ;-)

There should be a step-by-step tutorial on HOW to move the layer's panel to the right side of the screen rather than simply giving us a pre-made file to download and use. I still currently do not know how to manually move panels. :-(
