You cannot directly delete icons (to protect them if somebody guessed your password), but you can hide them and they will be eventually deleted.

Yes, it is too much of too big icons for one set. I have deleted the current ones. Please remove the 256x256 images from your icons and re-upload them. It should work with only the smaller images.

(Instead of Create Vista icon, simply use Create icon command.)

When you try to log-in and type the password incorrectly, there will be an option to send you your password by email. You of course must type your email correctly (including character case when logging in).

Hi! Um, I have my serial number now. How do I use it to fully register the program? I have 13 days remaining on it.

Uh, not to be a tattletale, but Kampfteddy6 has a cursor set that contains "questionable" material.

Regarding serial numbers, they are entered through main menu Help->About RealWorld ... The dialog also automatically appears once there is less than 5 days left.

You should add a section of top cursors/icons. 10-25. Sortable by either highest ratings or most downloads.

A better main page for the icon and cursor libraries is coming and it will hopefully include what you suggest, but it is going to take some time.

How do you get the edges of your cursors and icons so smooth?

Simplest way is probably drawing the icons or cursors much larger and then scaling them down to for example 1/4 of the size. (So yo can for example draw the cursors at 128x128 and then scale them down to the standard 32x32.)

Thanks for the heads up on the hotspots, got them all fixed now but not sure about the placement of the ibeam's. Seems a little wrong but not sure where it should be. Also added one more for the set the unavailable one. Also your cursors are very nice. I esp like the weather icons. Soon will be a new set from me, not sure about the name yet.

I had a question but wasnt sure where to poste it so. Im thinking you have a lot to do with the web site so i figured ill just send you a message, If I'm sending it to the wrong person sorry and please let me know.

What I wanted to know is would it be preferred that i upload all the cursors for the set and wait until the set is completed before posting that set?

I figure that if people were coming back to get more of the set(s) they like as they were made would generate more traffic for the site, but probably not more users. But I also figure that I should try and keep in line with the idea(s) on how the sites managers had intended things to be done. Please let me know which is preferred and ill surely do it that way next time I begin a new set.

almost forgot, I've been running RWCursor in linux just fine using Wine. The net stuff dosent work but i dont think thats a real big deal. I dont think you even need to make a linux version. But if you do you will probably get a lot of new users.
However, cursor making in linux is a real pain. Upside to that: nobody has made a good program for making cursors in linux and there is a LOT of people that would appreciate/download/use/share! So it might not be a bad idea to make a version for linux, you should make it for the Ubuntu rpm's and it will take off from there. But you will need to make some sort of theme construction tool's to go with or nobody will be able to use them.
Also if you decided that you wanted to go for it Im also sure you can enlist some linux coders at no expense. I know someone who just may be interested. Check out GrubCustomizer, I think he's pretty much done with that project. All-in-all, I think you should seriously look in to it (again sorry if this is directed towards the incorrect person, please forward or let me know)

Regarding the cursor set creation ... there is no rule how to do that, whatever suits you best is OK. Though you only get one shot to make the first impression and due to this reason, I would recommend to post a whole set or the core part of it at once. That does not mean that you cannot upload the individual cursors sooner, they will patiently sit in the junkyard until you turn them into a set.

I do not think there will be a dedicated Linux version in the foreseeable future, there is a lot of Windows specific code and making it platform independent will be too much work, even with help. The product still needs to evolve rapidly and it is best to keep is focused on Windows for now. But I should not neglect the Wine/RunOnLinux compatibility. I should make sure all works as it should on Linux and do a guide on how to install it etc. (or if you wish, you can do the guide).

I guess I should fully support the Linux xcursor format in the next version - not just importing, but also exporting so that people may use it to make native Linux cursors.

supporting the xcursor format would surely do the trick. As far as installing, all i did was run the msi to install and wine did the rest. There is probably a way to get the web things to work as well but im not good at messing with the wine settings or i'd be happy to document how to do it. However the wine homepage does offer ways to get specific programs to work correctly. Ive been trying to build the xcursor themes but im getting nowhere. Not sure why its soo complicated. If you need any help figuring it out on gnome-look.org there are a few proficient people that fully understand and know how to get things working. Usually they are all willing to lend a hand. One of the sets "Comic Cursor Set" includes the sources which has scripts for installing. Documentation on xcursor is hard to find that is accurate and understandable (for me anyhow) but i can guarantee if you can get it working and get the word out you will gain TONS of users.

A good rating is no always a 5-star rating. Also, there are only so many buttons on a shirt.

And republishing things copied from google is not fine. Pictures on google were still made by someone and that someone owns the rights.

Pretending that you are the author of something you did not really create is plagiarism, it does not matter from where you took it. If you are honest about the source, it can be called an adaptation, derived art, extension...

But a more important issue is copyright violation. Current copyright laws are pretty strict and in short you should always make sure the author allows reuse of their art and under what conditions.

There are multiple ways, you can do it for example in the Control Panel. Basic instructions are here.

Tutorials are always welcome, but you should only do them if you really want to help others, not for other (...) reasons.

how can i get an entire cursor pack to work?

It would be really cool if along with the download statistics, we had a flat map of the earth, and could see in which geographic areas we got the most downloads.

Areas could be blue for no downloads and gradually increase to red for areas with high download quantities. Granted, there would be issues from people who use proxies and such, but it would still be fairly accurate I think.

Just a fun idea.

The task is not exactly trivial - gathering the IPs of downloaders of selected user's sets, mapping IPs to countries and then generating an image with colored countries.

I'll see what can be done about it. Maybe someone has made a widget for that.

I see. It is not important, I just wonder sometimes, where the most downloads come from. It's not necessary to go to too much trouble for it.

I can't find my password & it would be faster to ask you here.
I wanted to view all the icons thru RW so I right clicked one of them "Open with" "choose Default Program" then chose RW-Editor then ALL of my icons went to One Size ... about the size of XP Operating system style And Can Not View them any bigger using "Views". I find this really frustrating because I can't see any detail in all of the work i have done on them & need to glance thru them to see which ones i am working on.
How can I get them back to see them in bigger "Views" ???

I tried to go back & change the program that will open them & no matter what program I try, they still stay the XP tiny size !

Hi Linda, choosing a default program in Windows should have no effect on the icons. The cause may be different... there were some updates related to thumbnail extraction for .ico in Windows in the past years. Also, the thumbnails are cached by Windows and not updated immediately. Sometimes, copying a file will force an update.

You may also try associating .ico file type inside the RWIconEditor instead of in Explorer (in the Tools->File Association window).

You can only see all the icons if I use Windows Picture Viewer. Is there a way to undo the Windows Update you spoke of?

I guess the only way at this point would be to fix this via registry editor.

Oh boy! I found a backup of some of my icons somewhere and I can see them in ANY size just fine. I THINK the ones that were effected were the ones that were OPEN in the file that I ...

Well, I just tested what you have described and ended up with (probably) the same result on my Windows 7. After setting RWIW as the application for .ico using Windows Explorer instead of directly from the editor, the small icons have changed and so far I was not able to get them back despite cleaning the registry pretty thoroughly (a reboot may help though). I'll let you know, one I succeed.

Update: here is what helped: deleting the registry key (everything under it) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.ico
The associating .ico files with RWIconEditor within the application (Tools->File associations menu), then removing it finally associating it again.

You only need to be a member if you want to upload the cursors for others to use. Otherwise, just get the cursor editor, where you can add as many animation frames as you want.

i have problem. i use Resize picture by adding to contex menu evrything is great except that i cannot do one thing:
- when i choose folder (<source folder>) with photos (<photos>) by left click using context menu the result folder i want to look like this - /<destination folder>/<source folder>/<photos>

my exemple i put by "add to context menu":
-R -M "-cD:\destination folder\<PATH><NAME>.jpg"
i click for ex. folder named "test" and i watn the result:
D:\destination folder\test\<NAME>.jpg

i give up right now - dont know what to do

Sadly, that cannot be done with the current version. The <PATH> placeholder only contains the path of subfolders withing the processed folder (to replicate the inner structure).

Since I am here, about a year ago all of my icons were changed to look small as before they could be viewed big.

Since I did all of that work to make them look good but then i could not see my work (in the big view), I quit using the program.

Now, at the time, I wrote you and you said that you could generate a small program so you could see the icons big again. You said it was a window update that screwed everything up. I didn't want to bother you and I figured other people would have the same problem & so you would eventually write something that allowed the icons to seen as big again.

Where might i pick up that process to allow the icons to be seen big again?

I do not really know how to force Windows to use non-default viewer for icons. It seems like the later versions of Windows refuse to use custom viewers within Explorer for .ico files.

As I said in a PM, your sets were deleted, because the icons in your sets were not yours. This is illegal in most countries.

Downloading something does not make it yours. And while downloading may be OK (because the authors allowed it), uploading them again and acting as if you are the author is breaking the copyright laws.

Grabbed a RWIE Standard License voucher from Scunkie and activated/accepted it (or at least I tried to).
Everytime I start the application it want's me to fill in the license form,
but I have no serial. I click "Cancel" to close the little window
and "accept it!" on top of the online page in RWIE,
but this action just refreshes the online page. Cannot save icons, please help.

how do you make the cursors move

Just take a photo of your face and then draw or use the shape tools over it and layer them properly and it will look like mine:)

I don´t know if this is even important, but it would be nice if this website had more filter options for coursor search. And voting or automaticly deleting cursors which don't get more than xxx downloads after 1 month. I mean its a cool website and the tools are great but it seems like it not developed over the past few years. Probably cursors are a niche product and the smartphone push cursors aside, but i dont want to lose that personalization. Yeah i know, that whole text is really presumptuous for a free website

to make a cursor you need to download realworld cursor editor. its available in the software page!!

hey, could you add something new to the website? maybe add the cursor roles Location Select and Person Select so when you want to upload a cursor and specify one of these roles to it. you could add more tags like windows 10 and other colors that dont exist yet like. Navy, Beige, Modern. RIDDLER also requested other tags on the Tags page.

I'm sorry to bother but I was wondering what I can do about an animated cursor file that I saved without a backup file and it got partially corrupted. For now it is irreparable and I am not sure how to recover the frames I created. Only one frame was exported as a 32 x 32 16 colors .ani file, not the format I chose. Then again, I may have missed something I should have clicked along the way. Thanks!

My update needs to have features

• where you can press Ctrl Shift S to Save As
• when rotating a selection of something in RW Paint, it rotates the entire image instead. we need to fix this so that we only rotate the selection.
• where RW Paint needs to have a fixed ratio drag selection, where you can set the ratio or size, and select that ratio or size on the image, like the white selection tool in Paint.net.
• and where we can have a "Make hand shape" in RW Cursor Editor.

I can help you Vlasta, but you may need to help me on how to program these updates. Also, do you speak English, or mainly Czech?
