This is a test I made for fun and now actively use. Here are all changes made:
Normal: Vertical, black with white outline
Help: Normal with question mark
Working In Background: Normal with rainbow hourglass
Wait/Busy: Color changing hourglass shape
Precision: Barely any change
Text: Black with white outline instead of negative
Handwriting: Pen faces straight up
Unavailable: An X instead of a

I love the sleek style but, I would smooth the cursors a little just so the edges don't look to fuzzy. I would also make the cursors all the same style. There are black ones and white ones. The text cursor hot spot is also broken.
