When I am working on the Windows 7 cursor and trying to test a 48 x 48 cursor in the test area, I am only getting the 32 x 32 cursor, even though I have the 48 x 48 cursor selected. Why is that?
Thanks,
Ellen
The test area shows the cursor like it will be when it is used. Windows 7 only shows 48x48 cursors when you set the resolution to 144 DPI or more (150% of original).
I'm not talking just about the size, it doesn't even show changes to the color or outline. Is that the way it's supposed to be? In other words, it doesn't even show unless you're already using 150% resolution? So if you're using normal or medium resolution, it doesn't even pay to edit the larger size?
Windows cannot show both image simultaneously, so if it is showing 32x32, changes to 48x48 are invisible.
Whether it pays off depends on what you plan to do with the cursor. If you are creating it for yourself and you throw it away after some time, there is no point. But if you are publishing it on the web or if you plan using it for a longer time, 48x48 is useful, because some of the people who download it may already use high resolution or you may one day decide to switch to higher resolution when you get a different display.
OK. Thanks for clarifying.
I made a 48x48 cursor and when i try to use it it's invisible. it only works as a cursor from the 32x32 box. how do i get the cursor in the 48x48 box to work?
How do i convert from 48 x 48 to 32 x 32??
