tranparent areas in images copied to clipboard become black - RealWorld forums

It's not strictly an RW issue, but anyways:
When I try to copy image/selection with transparent areas between different programs, transparent areas turn black/white.
copy-pasting transparent images work flawlessly between RWapps though; say, Paint<->CursorEd.
What black magic are you using, and is there any way this 'feature' could be extended system-wide ?

I wrote about it some time ago. In short, application can put things on clipboard in any format they like. If both applications support the same format, they can communicate. Windows initially did not support images with transparency and so each image editor had to use a custom format. Then the support was added, but most image editors were not updated.
