I have a file that i want to open that the realworld cursor wont open
it is a supported type file called "menu1.ANI" it is the menu background
for an online first person shooter game called Chaser. Can anyone tell
me why this file can not be opened?

Vlasta

.ani files are animated cursors. It is possible that someone used the same extension for other types of files. It that case it would not work with RW Cursor Editor. If you are not sure, send me the file by email.

When I try to make/edit a cursor, I use the useful
fill tool a lot, but when I fill something w/ one color there
are a bunch of darn specs of other random colors. I've tried
a bunch of things, but they didn't work. It sometimes does
it w/ the line tool also. This is really weird and annoying,
do you know how to fix it?

Thanks,
Porsche_Feind73

Um... I'm waiting...

Vlasta

I am not sure I understand you correctly, but maybe you selected a low color depth (like 4bits = 16 colors). In that case, the editor automatically dithers the image if you try to use non-native color.

Thanks, but just one more thing. When you load a 16-bit or so cursor, how do you convert it to 32-bit? I ask this because I like to mod the standard XP cursors and save them as mine.

Vlasta

Insert a new image in greater color depth, copy the old one using clipboard (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, switch to new, Ctrl+V) and then delete the old image from the cursor.

I have several questions/comments.
1.How many people actually use this site for posting/uploading cursors/icons?
2.How many registered people rate other member's icon/cursor sets?
3.I noticed that people that have signed up for this site and later abandon their account on this site or never logged on for days. I don't know if you noticed this but I'm just curious.

Vlasta

1. only a few, you can see the dates when cursor sets were added...
2. not many - there are on average 1-2 votes per day for all cursor and icon set, I guess using images with start instead of just a text field would help a lot, or showing the best rated cursors on the main page of the library...
3. people make cursors only occasionally, some of them return after few months and make more, some don't ...

Vlasta

You are logged of automatically if you uncheck the "Remember me on this computer" field during login or if you clear your cookies (if you are using public or school computer, they may be cleared automatically).

You can create an icon set by clicking a link on the main page of the library while logged in. A icon set should contain at least 3 icons.
