Rainbow Mandelbrot Zoom

Welcome to a brand new animated rainbow cursor set that is in its alpha building phase. As of this time, right now, I have successfully created and configured the needed master templates that I need to create this cursor set. This cursor set will be called Rainbow Mandelbrot Zoom because it looks kind of a fractal zoom that is rotating. To differ from the usual rotating effect, I have chosen to make the animation effect rotate counterclockwise instead of the clockwise manner. By choosing a counterclockwise spin effect, the spinning Mandelbrot zoom effect has a better appearance because the rotation reminds me of a spinning galaxy, which causes its arms to have a curved visual effect. This animation is based on both the effects of a spinning galaxy and a fractal zoom. The fractal zoom effect starts from the very center and then progresses to the outer edges of the canvas. There are several colors that make up this spinning galaxy fractal effect. Below I have set the correct parameters to use for the animated GIF file. They are all balanced properly according to size, speed, number of frames and the zoom set level. I have set the zoom to maximum of 100 for best viewing of the image. See the set stats below:

Stats:

Customize Size: 600

Speed: 25 FPS

Total Frames: 60

Zoom: 100

In RealWorld Cursor Editor, I have set to Frame Time: to 3, instead of two, to slow down the animation a little more so that all the visual effects of the colors are better observed by the eye.

Prototype cursor:

Today on February 11th 2025, just gone passed midnight, I have created a cursor prototype of my upcoming cursor set that I am planning to make. Here is the link to this evaluation prototype cursor preview:

http://www.rw-designer.com/cursor-detail/225294

How this cursor set was made:

This cursor set will be based of an animation that consists of 60 frames for all cursor roles. I have proposed for this rainbow cursor set to be created in three cursor resolutions of 32x32, 48x48, & 64x64 pixel sizes for the canvas size. The biggest resolution of 64x64 pixels is for Windows 11, so this cursor set is intended more for Windows 11, as I am planning to create it for Windows 11 users.

For this Rainbow Mandelbrot Zoom cursor set, I am going to create and include 18 cursor roles. There will be 17 cursors for right handed users and one cursor for left handed users. The left handed cursor will be named Inverted because it is a mirror version of the standard Normal Select mouse pointer. All the 18 cursor roles will be made in the same fashion using the same animation scheme with the same number of stats as listed above.

No outline borders:

Since this Rainbow Mandelbrot Zoom cursor set is animated in such a way, adding border outline to the animation frames would make the borders appear almost invisible and kind of messy, so it is much better to create this cursor set as a borderless cursor set. It is advisted and preferable to not mess around with borders, so choosing not to include any borders is my preferred choice because I want this cursor set to look its very best.

The X design for the Unavailable cursor role:

This time, for this cursor set's design, I will make the Unavailable cursor role, by simply creating an X cursor by using the text tool to type an X on the canvas. This X symbol will be an upper case X character because it is more suitable. That would entitle a better representation of a X cursor, instead of a lower case x, which kind of looks odd to the eye. The center of the X cursor will be properly calibrated to support a perfect counterclockwise animation, as to have its center point being fixed to the middle of the X cursor role. This will differentiate from the usual Unavailable cursor role which is known as the NO symbol. It is perfectly normal that the X cursor, for all the three cursor resolutions, to have its upper and lower parts of the letter's design to not touch the top and bottom areas of the canvas. That is because the width of the X letter design, touches the edge of the canvas. Otherwise, both left and right feet of the X letter would be cut off and would look awkward and horrible. Since I am a person which likes absolute perfection, the X letter design was made using the text tool to be scaled in a perfect size and placement to perfectly fit the canvas for all the three resolutions I have designed the X letter as it supposed to be like and to look like. I have used the Arial Black font with bold type to make the X cursor role. That is the very best font to use because it has a bold design that fits in perfectly well with this bold design for this rainbow cursor set.

Heptagon wheel cursors:

I have made two heptagon wheel cursors by using the heptagonal shape tool in Word 2010 to create this shape. Unfortunately, RealWorld Cursor Editor does not allow to create heptagon shapes because they do not exist. I have created another smaller heptagon inside the big heptagon and removed the central color fill in RealWorld Cursor Editor, after creating the cursor from that shape. I saved a cursor file copy of the imported heptagon to use as a template. Now, I need to create a secondary template to create the rainbow effect spinning counterclockwise inside it, leaving the center as a transparent hollow area just like a normal spinning wheel. The heptagonal shape itself does not rotate, but the animation inside it does. The reason why I chose to use a heptagonal shape is to make both the Busy and Working In Background cursor roles more original and different by shape from usual cursors that are available on the RealWorld Designer website. This is the first time ever that I have created two cursors that uses a heptagon. I cannot recall anyone else using a heptagon for cursors as well, so I used a heptagon to bring out a new shape that differs from the usual appearance of those two cursor roles that I have designed. You will like those cursors due to their shape. By the way, the heptagon that I made for those two cursors are a regular heptagon. That means that the heptagonal shape has all of its seven lines the same length and all of its corners the same angle.

Location Select and Person Select design style:

To make both the design style different for the Location Select and Person Select cursor roles, I have created the parent hand cursor as a hollow cursor with a thick outline. The outline thickness is between two to four pixels, varying on all three resolutions. The Pin and Person cursors are placed inside the hand cursor. The rainbow rotational effect spins counterclockwise for both the hand edges and the small cursor inside. The pin and person cursors overlaps with the bottom area of the dividing lines forming the fingers of the hand. That is not a mistake nor an error. That is intentionally done on purpose to make sure that the pin and person cursors are located at the very center of the animation, at the center of the canvas. Both the pin and person cursors are filled and the hand cursor has been left as a hollow hand with ultra thick borders. The hotspot for those two cursors are located at the tip of the pointing finger's hand, at the same position to the Link Select cursor role.

Release Date:

I am going to release this cursor set onto the RealWorld Designer website today on February 20th 2025, now that I have completed all the needed cursor roles to complete this cursor set. There are a total of 18 cursors in this pack to enjoy. Enjoy the beauty of the reversed animation effects.

License:

Users are free to download this cursor set, or individual cursors for use with any project of theme as they like. However, I forbid users to perform any re-uploads of this cursor set or self cursors. If I see any cursor or this whole set re-uploaded on the RealWorld Designer or any other site, I will complain to the site's administrators and ask them to take it down. This may put a penalty or strike on your account(s). Please make sure that you obey this guideline that I have written here. The following license is set to Custom (contact author), for an extra layer of protection against any violation.

No one thought about a Mandelbrot zoom effect for a cursor set. Yeah, I thought of one, and I successfully created this rainbow cursor set with another effect, which zooms in a counterclockwise manner. All the cursors are animated.

The big download button to download the full set does not work. I do not know why this happens, but there is nothing I can do about that. This is a website issue. However, all the cursors are downloadable as individual cursors when clicking on the floppy disk cursor's preview.
